Role : Co-Producer & Background Lead

I managed a team of over 20 students to create this 3 minute, 2D animated film, directed by Max Lothian. Alonside my co-producer, Aimee Hartington-Clark.

Rainy Day follows Murphy, who is feeling rather disheveled after a rainy outing. He is unfortunately greeted by an empty biscuit tin and decides to bake a fresh batch of shortbread to lift his dampened spirits (pun intended). He is helped along the way by his cat, Meatball. Rainy Day is a simple, wholesome and cozy film, inspired by the nostalgia of Studio Ghibli.

I originally signed up to be a background artist for Rainy Day but after a change of hands in production I decided to step in as co-producer, alongside Aimee Hartington-Clark. Producing two films in my final year of university was not an easy task but I believed deeply in the ideas and passion of both directors and could not have chosen between them, so doing both was the only option.

I also worked as background lead for the film and had a lovely time combining the use of traditional watercolour with digital methods to create the distinctive style seen in the film.

Rainy Day is currently on it's festival run and will be debuting in August 2026, at the Stratford Upon Avon Film Festival.
